Hello welcome to my online portfolio. I completed my Degree in Fine Art with Manchester Art School in 2010.
Currently my practice is concerned with the foibles of Humanity. The main focus of my practice at the moment is to highlight the effect of multinational and conglomerate practice on communities, cultural diversity and the natural environment. My work is heavily influenced by the london underground's own poster campaign which has been in service for about 100 years. I like to use a combination of image and text and currently use the Johnston type-face within my work. For inspiration I currently look to Roman Cieslewicz, Tom Eckersley and Paul Catherall. This online portfolio also contains older work of mine and charts my progress as a visual artist and designer.
The Tescopoly Alliance was launched in June 2005 to highlight and challenge the negative impacts of Tesco’s behaviour along its supply chains both in the UK and internationally, on small businesses, on communities and the environment. The campaign also advocates national and international legislation needed to curb the market power of all the major British supermarkets.
The Tescopoly Alliance represents a diverse group of organisations from large international NGOs to unions and small pressure groups, embracing a range of issues from worker's rights to the decline in small independent retailers. Members are Banana Link, Friends of the Earth, GMB London, Labour Behind the Label, nef and War on Want.
Tescopoly is not an organisation in its own right. It is facilitated and supported by the Alliance members, with additional financial support from independent charitable trusts. The website provides a resource for local campaigners to share ideas and information but all local groups are independent and are not affiliated to the Tescopoly Alliance.
